Metropolitan Transportation Commission resolution 3434 of July 27, 2005, sets the policy that there should be least 3,850 dwelling units within a half-mile of every BART station. U.S. Census maps show that there are already between 4000 and 5300 dwelling units within a half-mile of the west entrance to Ashby BART.
